The Pegasus Astro Pocket Powerbox Micro, also known as the PPB Micro, is the perfect tool for astrophotographers looking for a "grab and go" power hub. Don't let this powerbox's size fool you, this device can provide up to 10Amps of power. It has four 12V outputs, two dew heater channels, an adjustable voltage power output, and an environmental sensor for monitoring humidity and temperature! That's a whole lot !

Features:

  • The PPB Micro has four DC 12V power outlets that can be turned on/off via software.
  • 10Amps of total power
  • There are two channels PWM dew heaters with RCA outputs that can have their levels adjusted via software.
  • Pegasus Astro has included a humidity and temperature sensor cable.
  • The dew heaters are known as "auto-dew" and auto tune as needed.
  • Equipped with reverse polarity protection and overvoltage protection.
  • Can be controlled via USB / PC or standalone operation out of the box.
  • The PPB micro is lightweight and extremely compact, measuring only 66mm x 66mm x 24mm and weighing 80 grams.
  • You can connect and control the PPB Micro to a laptop/PC with a USB2 connection.

Regarding the four 12V DC power outlets, this PPB micro has a powerful mosfet transistor that provides power to your astronomy equipment. The built-in voltmeter measures and displays the input voltage in real time. If the input becomes more than 14.5V, the power will automatically cut off to protect the attached equipment. Additionally, the built-in amp meter is placed after the DC input and reports the total electric current. There are three additional amp-meters for the 12V outputs and two outputs of the Dew Heater Channels. This makes it easy to monitor detailed and overall power consumption of the equipment.

Pegasus Astro has included an adjustable regulated output that is suitable to provide power to a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or RPI3/4. From the software, you can tune your voltage to different levels: 3, 5, 8, 9, and 12 volts. You can find a wide range of battery couplers for Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Fuji cameras in the Recommended Accessories section.

The standalone function of the PPB micro allows this device to work out of the box. All you need to do is plug in the cables, setup the "autodew" function, and every time after that, it will retrieve your settings.

With Two Pulse width modulation (PWM) outlets provide power to dew heaters. The outlets can be remote controlled via software when the PPB micro is connected to a laptop. The controller can auto adjust the heater power levels by working in tandem with the environmental sensor's Dew Point reading. All you need to do is click "Auto" and then the PPB Micro will decide when to turn on and tune the level of the dew heaters.

Another port the PPB Micro has to offer is the Expansion port (EXT). The RJ12 socket allows the connection of current and future Pegasus Astro products. The devices that are plugged in can be controlled by the Pocket Powerbox standalone software or a dedicated ASCOM driver. The Pegasus Astro PPB Micro fully supports ASCOM6. When combined with Pegasus Astro's main program that acts as a server, users can use the latest ASCOM 6.3 supplied drivers to pass environmental settings to supported software and switch the 12V outputs on and off.

The PPB Micro also fully supports INDI. Users can bundle it with Stellemate and any other device that uses INDILib.

Pegasus Astro have equipped the PPB Micro with LED indication for power and failure states. The LED indicators can blink in patterns to warn of important power issues, such as over or under voltage. Though the light is already dim, it can be turned off using the software.

The PPB Micro comes with a watchdog that resets the device if there is no response from the controller for two seconds. This is a handy feature in the unlikely even of a controller freeze. The firmware is also upgradable to support future features and bug fixes.

Included Cables

  • Power Cables : Pegasus Astro has included four Dc 2.1 mm to 2.1 mm male power cables. Each are 1 meter in length.
  • External Environmental Sensor : Measuring 1 meter in length, the temperature and relative humidity sensor helps you know the exact environmental conditions of a user's location. The measurements are displayed in the software.
