Made of highly impact-resistant ABS plastic, the case has a custom-cut foam insert that holds and protects just the OTA, so the mount, hand controller, and finderscope will need to be removed for a proper fit—but it does have cut-in compartments for eyepieces and accessories. The case was made for Meade and Celestron SCTs, but other OTAs may fit with some modification to the foam (at your own risk). To give you maximum access to the interior, the lid comes off completely and is held in place with four latches, two of which are lockable with the included keys. Two large steel-reinforced handles make it easy to pick up, but if you find it too heavy, just grab one handle and tow it behind you on the standard hard plastic wheels.
